Study Permit (Student Visa) Process for Pakistani Students

  1. Receive your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a DLI in Canada.
  2. Confirm that the institution and programme meet eligibility for a study permit via IRCC rules (including provision of a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) if required). 
  3. Prepare your application: online via IRCC portal or through Canadian Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Pakistan.
  4. Pay the study permit application fee (CAD $150) and biometrics fee (CAD $85) as of current schedule 
  5. Provide required documents: passport, LOA, proof of funds (living + tuition), academic transcripts, language test results, biometrics.
  6. Attend biometrics appointment and medical exam (if required).
  7. Wait for decision: Processing times vary; complete and accurate applications fare better.
  8. If approved, you’ll receive a Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction, then travel to Canada and present the POE at arrival.
